ViacomCBS’s kids and family division has hired Yolanda Cochran as SVP of live-action long-form production for its Nickelodeon channels. Cochran will oversee production on projects for Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., TeenNick and NickToons, as well as Gen Z-focused producer Awesomeness.

Based in LA, Cochran reports to Megan Ring, ViacomCBS’s EVP of production. In the role she manages budgeting, scheduling, location scouting and staffing. She began at ViacomCBS in May.

Cochran previously worked for Disney’s ABC Television Group in production roles for two years. She also served as EVP of physical production at Warner Bros.-affiliated prodco Alcon Entertainment (Dolphin Tale, Blade Runner: 2049), where she oversaw production, finance and post-production of its slate, including The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2, Good Trouble and Motherland: Fort Salem.

In 2016, Cochran also produced Radio Film School: Breaking the Glass, a documentary short and podcast series about race and gender issues in the film and TV industry. She is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, and the co-chair of the PGA’s Women’s Impact Network.

ViacomCBS has been focusing on live-action growth at Nick and Awesomeness recently as lockdowns begin to lift, and production returns to normal. Earlier this month the media co hired Syrinthia Studer to oversee feature-length content for both Awesomeness and Nick as the studios build out their film slates.
