The UK’s iGeneration Studios has acquired indie producer Komixx Entertainment Group. Best known for the Kissing Booth movies on Netflix, the London-based prodco owns a much wider catalogue of on-demand entertainment for preschoolers, kids and teens.

As part of the reorganization, the new group’s operations in London and Los Angeles will rebrand as iGeneration Studios and serve as a home base for all young adult, prime-time drama and feature projects. The Komixx brand name, meanwhile, will be retained for preschool and children’s TV projects produced in the UK and Australia.

iGeneration’s headquarters will remain in London, and Komixx Entertainment Group CEO Ed Glauser has been tapped to lead the prodco. Komixx’s Australian outpost will continue to be headed up by managing director Amanda Morrison. And former Disney exec Lawrence Aldridge, who joined the company in 2020, will lead iGeneration Studios US as president.

The financial terms of this acquisition have not been disclosed.

The two companies have both been quite active on the new deals front lately. In June, Netflix picked up My Life with the Walter Boys (a series inspired by a same-name YA novel) from Komixx and Sony Pictures Television International Productions. iGeneration Studios, meanwhile, recently secured third-party investment from MediaNet Partners.
