Ahlan Simsim (pictured) from Sesame Workshop and Jordan Pioneers series has earned the country of Jordan its first-ever nomination at the International Emmy Kids Awards. Nominated in the Kids: Factual & Entertainment category, the show focuses on best friends Basma and Jad as they learn to identify and manage big feelings.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced 12 nominees in three categories for its latest round of awards. Series from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, France, Jordan, the Netherlands, the Philippines, South Korea and the UK all earned spots on the shortlist.

The UK was the only country to generate multiple nominations, with Aardman’s Shaun The Sheep: Adventures from Mossy Bottom landing in the Kids: Animation category and Big Deal Films’ My Life: Picture Perfect on the shortlist for Kids: Factual & Entertainment.

The award ceremony’s presenting partners are Ernst & Young, MIPJunior and TV Kids, and winners will be announced during an online event on October 12.
